Soft Washing in Mission Hills, San Diego

Mission Hills is one of the oldest neighborhoods we work, and the housing stock shows it. Spanish revival stucco, Craftsman bungalows, painted wood siding, a lot of it predating 1940. None of that takes high pressure well.

So we soft wash here. Under 100 PSI, a sodium hypochlorite detergent mix that kills the algae and mildew at the root, then a gentle rinse. The chemistry does the work, not the pressure.

The homes off Washington Street and up toward Goldfinch sit on canyon edges where shade and moisture hold longer. North-facing stucco grows a green-black film that a pressure wand would blast right through, chipping the texture coat and driving water behind the paint.
