Can You Pressure Wash in October in San Diego?

Yes. October is one of our busiest pressure washing months in San Diego because daytime temperatures sit in the mid-70s, surfaces dry quickly, and Santa Ana winds clear humidity fast. Our crew washed 28 driveways and 12 stucco exteriors across San Diego last October without a single weather delay.

We get the question every fall. Customers in North Park and Kensington call worried that the season is wrong. It is not.

San Diego October weather looks nothing like October in most of the country. We were running hot water rigs at 180 degrees on driveways in University Heights with daytime highs hitting 78. Surfaces dried in under two hours.

What October Looks Like on a San Diego Job

Last year our schedule between October 1 and October 31 included 28 driveway cleanings, 12 stucco soft washes, 9 patio jobs, and 6 solar panel cleanings. Zero reschedules due to weather.

The morning marine layer burned off by 10 AM most days. We started jobs at 8, finished by 3.

Our crew prefers October for soft washing stucco. The lower humidity helps surfactants dwell properly without flash-drying on hot walls. We get cleaner results than we do in August.

Why Some Pressure Washers Tell You No

Out of state operators sometimes copy advice from regions where October means freezing nights. That advice does not apply here.

San Diego sees an average October low of 58 degrees. We have washed in 50 degree mornings without issue. Surfactants and SH (sodium hypochlorite) for soft washing perform fine above 50.

The real October risk is wind, not cold. Santa Ana events push gusts to 35 mph in the East County. We do not soft wash a stucco home in those conditions because overspray drift is unpredictable. We move that job to a calmer day.

What October Costs Versus Peak Season

Pricing does not change month to month for us. A 1,000 square foot driveway in San Diego runs $250 to $400 depending on stain severity. A single story stucco soft wash runs $400 to $700. October jobs are the same rate as April jobs.

What does change is scheduling. October opens up after the September rush dies down. We can usually book within a week.

Jobs We Will Not Do in October

Roof soft washing slows down once the first storm system shows on the 10-day forecast. We do not want fresh SH on a roof six hours before rain. If a winter storm system is tracking toward San Diego, we push roof work into the next clear window.

Driveways and patios are different. They tolerate a same-day rinse from light rain without affecting the cleaning result.

How to Schedule an October Pressure Wash

Book two weeks out if you want a specific weekday. The first two weeks of October fill up faster than the last two because customers want the work done before Halloween parties and holiday season.

If you are in North Park, Kensington, Normal Heights, or Hillcrest, our crew is in your area weekly. We can usually batch a route together. Check our North Park, Kensington, and Normal Heights pages for what we typically tackle in those neighborhoods.

And if you are wondering whether the timing matters at all for your specific surface, our year round timing breakdown goes deeper into the seasonal tradeoffs by service type. Get a quote for an October slot.
