What Does It Cost to Power Wash a Driveway in San Diego?
Most driveway power washing jobs in San Diego run $180 to $425 depending on square footage and staining. A standard 600 sq ft driveway with light staining lands around $225. Heavily stained 1,000+ sq ft driveways with oil pull-up usually quote $400 to $500.
We pressure wash 11 driveways a week across San Diego. Most sit between 500 and 900 square feet. The cost depends on three things. Square footage. What is already on the concrete. And whether the homeowner wants a post-treatment.
Standard Driveway Pricing Ranges
| Driveway Size | Light Cleaning | Heavy Staining |
|---|---|---|
| Under 500 sq ft | $165 to $195 | $225 to $275 |
| 500 to 800 sq ft | $195 to $245 | $285 to $350 |
| 800 to 1,200 sq ft | $245 to $325 | $365 to $475 |
| Over 1,200 sq ft | $325 and up | Custom quote |
Why Some Driveways Cost More
Three things bump our price beyond the standard range. Oil stains that have soaked deep into the slab. Rust from sprinkler systems or patio furniture. And algae that has eaten into the pores of older concrete.
We use a 4000 PSI surface cleaner for most of the job. That tool finishes a 600 sq ft driveway in about 25 minutes. The extra time comes from spot work with degreasers and rust removers.
What About a Hot Water Pressure Washer?
We run heated machines on commercial gum removal and grease pickup at restaurants. For residential driveways in North Park, Hillcrest, and Kensington, cold water at 4000 PSI handles 90 percent of the work.
Heat helps when oil has pulled deep into the slab. It also runs the bill up because heated equipment costs more per hour. We only quote it when the job genuinely needs it.
How Long Does the Job Take?
A standard driveway takes our crew 45 to 75 minutes start to finish. That includes pre-rinse, surface cleaning, edge detail, and final rinse. We pull out before noon on most weekday bookings.
Bigger jobs with stain removal can stretch to two hours. We always quote the labor honestly. No upsells in the driveway after we have already started.
How Do Prices Vary Across San Diego Neighborhoods?
Concrete in older neighborhoods like South Park and Mission Hills tends to be more porous. That means deeper staining and slower cleaning. Newer slabs in Carmel Valley or Scripps Ranch clean up faster.
Coastal homes in Point Loma and Ocean Beach pick up more salt residue, and the dark mildew along the joints comes back faster. We sometimes recommend a sodium hypochlorite post-treatment for $45 to $75 on top of the wash to slow regrowth.
Should You DIY With a Rental Machine?
A rental machine from Home Depot runs about $75 for the day plus chemicals. Most homeowners discover the issue after they have already striped the concrete with a turbo nozzle. Repairs cost more than the original wash would have.
Our crew runs the same machines we have been running for years. We know which nozzle each surface needs. And we carry insurance if something does go sideways.
Pricing varies by neighborhood and how long the staining has been there. Get a free estimate at our contact page, or read our full pressure washing service overview. If your driveway sits in North Park or one of the close-in neighborhoods, we also wrote up what we have seen on North Park driveways.
If we cleaned your driveway in your San Diego neighborhood, we would love to hear about it on Google. Mention the area and the type of surface we cleaned. That helps other homeowners find us.
