How much does it cost to pressure wash a 2,000 sq ft driveway?

Pressure washing 2,000 square feet of concrete in San Diego runs about $400 to $700 in most cases. Large flatwork prices by square foot, not by job, so the rate drops as the slab gets bigger. Oil stains, heavy algae, and long hose runs push the number toward the top of that range.

A true 2,000 sq ft driveway is rare. Most of the time it is a driveway plus a side yard pad, a parking apron, or a courtyard on a larger lot.

We price it the same way either way, by the square foot of concrete we actually clean.

What does the price look like by size?

Concrete areaTypical priceTime on site
500 sq ft$150 to $30045 to 90 min
1,000 sq ft$250 to $4501.5 to 2 hrs
2,000 sq ft$400 to $7002.5 to 4 hrs
3,000 sq ft and up$550 to $9504 to 6 hrs

The rate per square foot falls from roughly $0.30 on a small slab to $0.20 on a big one. Setup is the fixed cost. Staging the rig and running 150 feet of hose takes us about 20 minutes whether the slab is 500 feet or 2,000.

How do we clean that much concrete?

We run a 20 inch surface cleaner at about 3000 PSI and 4 GPM. It covers roughly 400 to 500 sq ft an hour on clean concrete.

A wand with a rotary tip is faster to pick up and slower to finish. It leaves stripes on a slab that size, and on a 1930s pour in North Park it can etch the surface in seconds.

What pushes the quote up

Oil under a carport adds $75 to $250. It needs a degreaser dwell and hot water at 180 degrees, not more pressure.

Canyon lots in Normal Heights and Kensington, where the truck sits 100 feet or more from the work, add hose time and usually another 30 minutes.

Heavy algae on shaded north-facing slabs takes a second pass. The marine layer keeps that concrete damp from May through July, and the green film comes back fast if the slab never dries.

Should you bundle the walkway and patio?

Yes. A driveway, front walkway, and back patio on one visit usually land 15 to 20 percent under three separate trips. The rig is already set up.

Pavers are the exception. They drop to 1200 to 1500 PSI and need joint sand replaced, which we price separately.

Details on surfaces and process are on our pressure washing page. If you are in Hillcrest, our Hillcrest driveway cleaning page covers the narrow lots and jacaranda stains near Robinson and Front Street.

If we cleaned your slab, tell us in a Google review which neighborhood you are in and what surface we did. That helps the next homeowner more than a star rating.
