How much does concrete pressure washing cost in San Diego?
Concrete pressure washing in San Diego runs about $0.20 to $0.45 per square foot, and most residential jobs land between $150 and $450. We use a 20 inch surface cleaner at 3000 PSI and 4 GPM, which cleans faster and leaves fewer stripes than a bare wand.
Those numbers come from our own quotes this year, not a national average.
What does each concrete surface cost?
| Surface | Typical size | Price range | Time on site |
|---|---|---|---|
| Driveway | 400 to 700 sq ft | $150 to $300 | 45 to 90 min |
| Backyard patio | 300 to 600 sq ft | $120 to $275 | 1 to 2 hrs |
| Sidewalk and front walk | 150 to 400 sq ft | $80 to $200 | 30 to 60 min |
| Commercial lot or dumpster pad | 1,000 to 5,000 sq ft | $250 to $900 | 2 to 5 hrs |
Bundling a driveway, walkway and patio on one visit usually saves 15 to 20 percent.
Why does old San Diego concrete need a different approach?
Much of the concrete in North Park, Normal Heights and Golden Hill was poured between 1915 and 1940. It is porous, the aggregate sits near the surface, and a rotary tip held in one spot cuts a visible stripe in about four seconds.
So we stay on a surface cleaner and let a pre-soak do the lifting. A 500 sq ft slab off Adams Avenue takes about 60 to 75 minutes door to door.
Newer slabs in Rancho Bernardo or Scripps Ranch are denser and clean faster, but they hold oil just as stubbornly.
What moves a quote up
Oil under a carport adds $75 to $150, because it needs a degreaser dwell and hot water at 180 degrees. Rust bleed from a wrought iron gate needs an acid-based treatment, not more pressure.
Access matters too. If the truck cannot get within 100 feet of the work, we run extra hose and the day gets longer.
When is the best time to book?
Fall is good. Cooler mornings and the marine layer keep shaded slabs damp, so we start early and finish before the surface dries unevenly.
